Safari Pets carries a broad range of products and creatures.  You can find quite a variety of stuff coming through our doors on any given week, but here we can give you an idea of some of our departments.

Birds

We carry several different birds at any given time ranging from your common budgie or lovebird to fancier species like Ringnecks, Conures or Senegals. Our selection changes often based on whats available from local breeders so check in periodically if you’re looking for something specific or unique.

Small Animals

Near the back of the store you will find an enormous rack of enclosures that we use to house a large selection of furry creatures.  We regularly stock Mice, Rats, Guinea Pigs, Rabbits, Gerbils, Hamsters and Degus, while periodically we may have more exotic fare like Chinchillas, Ferrets, etc.

Our store does also carry kittens, but we will not sell them without making sure that they are examined by a vet and given a clean bill of health (this includes their first set of vaccinations, deworming, and defleaing).  We do not purchase kittens from anybody, and will only adopt kittens from customers after the vet has cleared them.

On a related note, our store does not sell dogs, although we do carry a limited amount of dog product.  If you are interested in purchasing a dog, we strongly recomend going through one of BC’s many registered dog breeders (Found Online at the following site: Discover Dogs Directory)

Reptiles

Our reptile section of our store may not take up as much real estate as some of the other areas, we carry quite an extensive line of product from vendors like Hagen (Exoterra), Zoo Med, and Central (Zilla).  Our selection of reptiles is always changing, with a few common critters being readily available; reptiles such as corn snakes, ball pythons, bearded dragons, geckos of all sorts and various frogs.

Freshwater Fish/Plants

If you are looking for quality freshwater fish or plants look no further. Our extensive fishroom houses a massive collection of fish from all of the world (while we do tend to focus primarily on fish from the Amazon, South East Asia, and the Rift Lakes).

Safari also carries a full line of Plants and associated product from Tropica Aquatic Plant Nurseries and other vendors. If you need aquatic plant supplies, and great advice on how to get a (wet) green thumb, come on in and check out our selection.

Saltwater Fish/Corals

Our Saltwater section is the pride and joy of the store. With regular shipments of Fish and Coral coming in from all over the world, Safari is able to offer an enourmous selection of Marine livestock. With a recent fishroom expansion, Safari is now able to house more coral then ever before (which means our selection just got even better!).
